Daniel Galant graduated from Michigan State University in 1973 cum laude. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and a minor in mathematics. In 1976 he received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit where he graduated cum laude. In 1976 he served as a law clerk to United States Court of Appeals Judge Paul C. Weick.
Until 2012 he worked as a labor and personnel attorney for General Motors. He was responsible for employee benefit matters, including pension, life insurance and health care matters. He also handled GM's workers' compensation legal matters, and was responsible for a budget of $9 million. While at GM he handled all aspects of human resources.
Mr. Galant has worked for the JustUs® program as a consultant since 2012. He has also worked for the Kienbaum Law Group, P.C. where he handles employment law matters and business relations issues, including state and federal discrimination law cases and covenant not to compete claims.
Mr. Galant has been a past elected board member of the Metropolitan Detroit Bar Association and a member and past chairman of the Michigan Manufacturers Association Lawyers' Committee.
