Christine Derdarian is integrity in action. A highly respected member of the Michigan’s legal community, she brings 30 years of legal and political experience, as well as exceptional leadership and management skills, to the JustUs® Advisory Board.

A consultant to Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, Derdarian previously served as Special Legal Consultant to Governor Granholm, where she worked with department head David Hollister to reorganize the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth. This followed her role as chief legal counsel for the Governor-Elect’s transition team where she supervised a staff of 25 volunteer attorneys and counseled Governor-Elect Granholm on transition-related legal issues.

As Michigan’s Assistant Attorney General, she served on the Attorney General’s Opinion Review Board, the Ethics Committee and with the Labor Division as the chief counsel on labor matters.

Admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1973, Christine Derdarian has served on a number of the Bar Associations’ committees including the Character and Fitness Committee, Health Care Committee, Communication Committee and the Administrative Law Section. She is a past president of the International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit and the Women’s Economic Club of Detroit. Derdarian was recently named one of “Michigan’s 95 Most Powerful Women” by CORP! Magazine.

Derdarian earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan and a doctor of jurisprudence from the Detroit College of Law. In 2002, she was the Michigan Attorney General’s nominee for the Harvey Wasserstein Fellowship in Public Service at Harvard Law School.
