With 49 years of experience, James O. Cook is a seasoned professional,
bringing candid realism and practical insights to the JustUs® Advisory Board.
As the retired Vice President of Human Resources for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan,
Cook became a technical expert in all areas of Human Resources.
Cook’s strengths are in the areas of bargaining, governmental compliance, design and
communication of employee benefits. He frequently manages, develops and implements his
self-developed program “Employee Sensitizing Session” in a variety of organizational settings.
As a consultant to The Stakor Group, Cook performs job/position studies and critical design
analysis as part of the copyrighted “Strategic Planning of Employee Benefits Report” preparation.
In addition to Human Resource training and coaching, Cook is a nationally recognized speaker
with the National Association of BCBSM plans. He serves as a member of Wayne State University
Masters in Business Administration Board of Directors, and various other professional organizations,
including: American Society of Personnel Administration, American Compensation Association,
American Society of Training Directors, Detroit Personnel Management Association and Large
Plan Personnel Group. Cook also enjoys membership in non-professional organizations, including
Rotery International, and is a Licensed Life Underwriter.
Cook is a graduate of Michigan State University (Bachelor of Arts, Business, minoring in Insurance and Economics).
