Since 2001, Ms. Roush-DeFrank has been a part of the JustUs® team.
“It was easy for me to become excited about this job, because I believe
in the principles behind the Program”, she notes.
As the Director of Operations, Ms. Roush-DeFrank is responsible for overseeing
the daily activities of the HelpLines. With her unique background in Law and
International Relations, Ms. Roush-DeFrank adds value to the JustUs® program with her
“outside the box” resolutions and ethics training. She is also responsible for the
training of new HelpLine Representatives, who ultimately become the voice of JustUs®.
“Training new Representatives is a rewarding part of my work,” says Ms. Roush-DeFrank,
“but, it is even more rewarding when I see the skills they develop used to effectively
resolve problems.”
Ms. Roush-DeFrank graduated from James Madison College at Michigan State University with
a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. In 2003, she received her Juris Doctorate
from the University of Detroit – Mercy School of Law. Ms. Roush-DeFrank also works as an
Associate Attorney for Karen Smith Kienbaum & Associates in downtown Detroit, where she
focuses her practice on negotiations and employment law. She is licensed to practice in the
State of Michigan, the Federal Eastern District Court and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
