Stephen Mazurak is the former Dean and Professor of Law at the University of Detroit
Mercy School of Law. Before joining the faculty of UDM in 1980, Mazurak was a partner at
Rexon & Mazurak, P.C., following his years as an associate in several firms in California.
Mazurak is a member of multiple professional organizations and has played key roles including:
secretary and council member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar
Association, public co-chair of the committee on employees’ rights and responsibilities,
and an inspection team member of the American Bar Association’s section on legal education.
Steve Mazurak graduated valedictorian with honors from the University of Nebraska Law School,
where he received the Roscoe Pound Scholarship, was an editor of Law Review and participated
on the National Moot Court Team.
Mazurak is a published author of numerous Law Review articles and papers presented to local
and national bar associations, legal educational programs and professional organizations.
